If you want your wood-burning experience to be as clean and smokeless as possible then we recommend that you use only seasoned (dried out) logs. The process of drying can vary depending on how big the pieces are but generally speaking smaller chunks such as kindling can be dried within weeks while bigger logs like those used for fuelling open fires may require up to one year in order to reach optimal moisture levels.
