The Chimney is very easy to use. Just open the top and drop your favorite smoking blend in there, then close it again when you are done with it for a few minutes or up to an hour depending on how long you think it needs to be smoked. This will release all the juicy flavor into your food without burning anything. You can put the cover on top while you are smoking your favorite blend to prevent others from smelling it too.

Useful Tips
- Make sure that the fireplace is off and cold before starting to clean it. If you start cleaning while there’s still a fire, embers could fall out of the chimney onto your floor. To make this process easier, we also recommend placing a cover over your fireplace opening or even moving furniture away from around where you will be working.
- If your fireplace opening is located in an exterior wall, the bricks around it may be dirty and dusty from soot. Cleaning them will not only make for a better look, but can also help to reduce moisture build up that could lead to mold or even water damage!
- Using a brush, remove the dust and debris from your fireplace bricks. You can use either an old toothbrush or even a fire place broom to begin this process. If you have built up soot on the inside of your chimney, you can also try using small rocks wrapped in cloth as makeshift scouring pads!
- Make sure to check for leaks in your chimney by following the tips mentioned above at least once a year to avoid any accidents or dangerous situations.
- Be careful when sweeping out soot from inside the fireplace, as it might fall down on you while cleaning and cause stains all over your clothes!
- You should also check for cracks in the outside of chimney by looking at with a flashlight.
- Make sure to clean your chimney at least once a year. Chimneys that are used regularly should be swept before each heating season, while those that are not used often can go up to two years without being cleaned.
- The next step is replacing the damper if you have an old fireplace with manual ones instead of automated dampers. If you are installing an automated one, make sure that it can seal tightly to prevent any smoke from leaking out
- Finally, if the chimney is very high above your roof line and you live in a place with extreme weather conditions or harsh winds then consider building a wind barrier around the base of the chimney using brick walls or steel sheets.
