Gas fireplaces are perfectly safe if they’re turned off when not being used, but most people feel more comfortable keeping them on during certain parts of their day such as when they go out for work or while sleeping at night. However, make sure that there’s no flammable material near any heat source including dry trees or plants, and combustible material such as wood or paper.
