Wood or biomass (such as corn stover, rice husks, peanut shells) are the most common types of fuels used for burning fireplaces and wood-burning appliances because they usually produce more heat than other kinds of fuel do at cheaper costs compared with propane and natural gas. Depending on where you live though (for example: if it’s cold enough), some people also choose to use coal briquettes; however, we would not recommend this kind due to its high sulfur content which contributes heavily to acid rain problems when burnt indoors. In addition, there may be certain legal restrictions that apply city by city depending on your location so please check your local ordinances for more information.
